Selling Servers

I'm running into trouble pricing two HP Netservers I've come into possession of and would like to sell.

I've got a fully loaded and functional HP Netserver LH3000 and a LC2000r but I keep getting mixed messages when I go looking for information on an asking price for the two. I've seen prices ranging from well over a thousand dollars to down to about two hundred. I just need to know exactally what I can get for what I've got.

Well, let's see the specs on each ... That will help a lot.

The LH3000 has a Intel P3 591.856mhz processor (thank unix for all the extra numbers), 516352kb of RAM, four 20gb RAID drives and a SureStore DAT 40x6 tape backup.

The LC2000r has two Intel P3 657mhz processors, 523752kb of RAM and another four 20gb RAID drives.

If nobody knows then just point me in the right direction. I really do need to sell these things and I don't want to ask too little.

The LC2000r may bring about $500.00 tops and the LH3000, probably about $250.00. What hurts you on these are the fact that they are Pentium 3 processors and not Xeons. Also the speed of the processors are showing the servers' age. The memory on both of these might be a little short for a server running Win2K or Win2K3. The biggest drawback to the LH3000 is the single processor.
The plus to these sytems are the RAID arrays. But then again the age of the servers tells us that the drives may have outlived there useful lives.

Your best bet would be to try and push these on ebay.

LH3000 - $800 (the tape drive - an autoloader - is worth $500)

LC2000r - $400

I would sell the autoloader seperate from the server - you'll make a quicker sale that way.
