ZoneAlarm blocks everything
My computer has been under massive hacker attacks in the last few days, and i dont know why. To stop this i have installed ZoneAlarm and have just finished setting all the programs and applications that are to be alowed access to the internet. The only problem is if i set the "internet zone security" to high ALL internet activity gets blocked, even what i set should be alowed, and if i set it to medium it doesnt block as well.
How can i set "internet zone security" to high but still alow me to surf the web :| and use any games or other apps i select? |

I looked around for some answers, and didn't find any.
I use ZA (free) myself, and have never had this problem (in fact, I just downloaded an update this AM). One possibility is that you computer was already infected, and that interfered with the installation (which I have heard reports of before). Start by downloading Spybot from the link below. Run a scan and fix everything in RED. http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10...age&tag=button Tell us what occurs, (eg, how many items Spybot marked in red), and if you notice any differences after the fixes.. |

Well i dont think i do have an infection of any kind on my pc, unless its something very very new. I got NAV with up-to-date virus definitions, downloaded then just last night, and ad-aware also up-to-date. I made a full scan with both just 2 days ago as i had some virus problems, but i managed to delete all the bad files. Along that line of thought, since i have been hacked twice this week could the hacker have put something on my system to affect this, that NAV and ad-aware both wont be able to pick up?
Other than that my system is 100% clean, files, folders, and registry. I check it all myself as well as using the scanners once a week at least. |

Good for you!
Spyware, unfortunately, is getting through pretty frequently now. I'm going to have to let some others step in on the current problem. Afterward, check out the bottom URL that I have listed in my sig, as it will give you some additional info on defense. I just haven't heard of this with ZA, so I'm stumped. |
