Current Programme Is Rubbish

Hi,
I Have Recently Started Working For Another Small Company And The Computer System That They Have In Place At The Moment Is Crap, To Put It Bluntly, We Are A Small Regional Building Contractors That Take On Alot Of Work From Insurance Companies, And The Office Is Getting Very Busy Now, Like I Say The Program That We Have In Place At The Moment Doesn't Even Do Half Of What We Require, The Program Is Called 'job Manager', We Need To Keep Track Of All These Claims At The Touch Of A Button, Including A Log Manager To Input Conversations As Text, Including Reports.

The Company That I Used To Work For Used A Unix System Which Was Very Good And Was Almost Faultless For What We Used It For, And I Feel That In Place The Same Program At Our Company Would Work Very Well, How Much Would Something Like This Cost, And Where Would I Look To Enquire About The Price Of Something Like This.

I Have Looked On The Unix Website Which Doesn't Give Any Prices, And I Don't Exactly Know What Program I Am Looking For, As We Are A Small And Up And Comming Company, I Would Like To Keep Down The Costs, And We Have Had A Meeting With Our Current Computer Engineer/programmer, And I Can't Help But Think That He Is Trying To Sell Us Another Version Of Our Current Program, Which Just Will Not Do.

The Programs That Have Worked With Before Are Programs Like Unix, Sage, Kerridge, And Would Feel Like These Are The Type And Quality That We Should Be Using, What Do U Recommend? And Where Would I Start Looking? And What Would Be The Most Cost Effective Way Of Getting Around This?

Many Thanks In Advance

Sorry To Do That Mate, But Here In America It's Program, Not Programme... lol, but Unix Can Be expensive, but if you want to go free, get linux, it's a unix varient, and works quite well for free software.
