Okay.. well.. I've had this problem for around 6 months.. and this has become my last resort without having to pay $80.00 to get my computer cleared...
Well... everytime I try to sign in MSN Messenger, it says: "Signing into .NET Messenger Service failed because the password is incorrect or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten your password, click Help in the main window, and then click Help Topics." And I did NOT type in the wrong password. Nobody is able to sign in. I've tried deleting then downloading MSN several times, but nothing has changed... And I've tried changing my password too... but nothing has changed. I've even tried making a new e-mail... but nothing has changed... Anything that's related to MSN doesn't work... for example the "MSN internet" or whatever... it says the same thing... I just downloaded the new "MSN (BETA)" and this is what came up... "Singing into .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 800b0001" Although I checked the service status.. and it said that everything is fine!!! I don't know what to do... but hopefully someone can help me out... I even named this problem myself!!! "The MSN Virus!!!" ... Please Help me!!! MSN Web doesn't even work anymore!!! =( Last edited by Spade666 : 03-19-2005 at 05:37 PM. |

Do you have a windows firewall, or some other firewall application running? Look in the task manager for any named firewall applications running.

The task manager is what opens in response to the three finger salute in windows (ctrl, alt, delete)

The thing is is that I'm NOT using the wrong password.. and it's impossible that everyone and ANYONE that tries to sign on is using the wrong password!! Grr...
And it's still not working!! I think it's a virus... that no anti-virus can pick up! |

if u are on a LAN, the hub, or gateway needs to open port 80, or at least forward it to u, if u have a firewall, u need to configure it to let port 80 get thru TCP, not UDP, if that dont work, and u really want messenger, back up your data that u really need, and swipe it, it works for me!!!!!!
