As far as the software I've used there is always a certain amount of blur or distortion. The main difference is the amount. trying to enlarge in word will completely and totally ruin the image, but any graphics program such as photoshop will do a high quality job, plus, atleast with photoshop 6 you can choose the quaility of the *.jpg so that helps a bunch too. Good luck with whatever your problem is.

I use the "jpeg wizard" by "pegasus " ... They say the main purpose of this program is to restore images, but I have not tried that particular aspect of it. I am sure you would need the original stored somewhere in order to do it. - worth checking out, though , if you want to compress images and resize them later.
