SP2 on 550 workstations
Question for IT professionals, home users, whatever.
What would you do if you were told to install SP2 on a big network with 550 workstations running XP ? Looking for the best solution, concerning reliability, quality, automation, security, and speed of course, coz it can be weeks or so.

I would get to work right away.....
Just kidding....What I would do, if I could, would be to just burn a whole bunch of CDS (20 or 30?) with SP2 on them, and then start the install on like 20 machines at a time.....Just cycle through all the steps. I don't know exactly how long it takes to run the install, but the other thing is that you want to be absolutely sure that the systems are free of virii and adware. You could give a few neighborhood teens a few bucks an hour to install it, giving you some help, if they are techy types. HTH
