Micro-Scope and POST-Probe

Hi all,

I too am starting a new PC repair business and have been looking at some diagnostic tools. Micro 2000's Micro-scope and POST-Probe look like they might be valuable time savers. But because they're kind of pricey($$$), I wanted to get some feedback from anyone who may have experience with them. Also, any recomendations on alternate diag tools and /or good field tech manuals would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi and Welcome to TSF

Microscope 2000 is a great diagnostic utility to have. IMO, it is worth the $$.
It takes away the swapping of parts and puts all hardware tests at your fingertips.
I had a pc that the user complained about gaming issues, he returned the pc to the company he purchased it from. They changed the psu, and let it run for 3 days and said all was fine. User still had issues so I had him bring it to the shop, I ran Microscope 2000 and found the video card had failed the Linear Memory test. Changed the video card and has not had any issues since.
Only thing that concerns me is that the post probe card does not have the ability to test a PCI Express slot. I have not been on their site lately they may have come up with a card to do this now. PCI Express was not even out when I purchased mine so this may be something I need to look into to.

They now have it on a thumb drive, unfortunately I cant afforid to purchase this again so I will stick to my disk for now.
Its a great investment

Thanks for the info

Because of the lack of replies, I was thinking that maybe nobody had ever used Micro-Scope. Thanks for the input. I spent a couple of hours just today finding a "ghost in the machine"and was wishing the whole time that I could try it out.

Not many people can afford it, it is alittle expensive for most users.
