Confused Playing games on Vista...ugh!![MOVED FROM WINDOWS]

Is there a way too keep my computer from loosing it's mind every time I try to play any games?? I have Vista home premium OS.I can play the Windows pre-installed games with no problem...BUT, try to play most other games(down loaded)and my Toshiba Satellite notebook FREAK'S out!! Even Toshiba games are a mess too!How can I fix this? Oh, and some times I have prob's shutting down too, why??

what seems to be the issue

1 are the games crashing / overheating

2 download update video driver

3 (bsod) blue screen of death

4 post the dxdiag file so i can see the video card
*,* start type in start search dxdiag and click save all info and post here

5 plz give a little more details
