I need help!!! CRC

Ok i don't speak computer language so if you can help me in English i'd very much appreciate it. So i bought this game called Rollercoaster tycoon 3 Plantinum. I really would like to play it but everytime i try to install it this message comes up saying that Error: cyclic redundancy check and then the installation stops. How do i go about fixing this problem.

Hi Jasmine, Welcome to TSF

CRC is the computer's way to making sure that the files are all correct and that they are what they say they are. An error would suggest that either the data is corrupt or that the disk is scratched or damaged.

If possible, try installing it on a different computer to see if it'll install. If not, it'd probably be worthwhile to contact Atari (I think that's who makes the RCT games) to see if they have a fix for it. Also, could you post your system specifications here so that we can make sure that they meet the minimum for the game.

Generally a CRC error means that the source of the DATA (a CD, DVD, etc.) is bad. See if you can swap it out where you bought it.
