EEK! GalCiv 2 minor problem

hey guys...

I just got GalCiv 2, and it installed fine and everything and I can get into the game just fine, but whenever in-game videos and audio plays, it sorta lags and skips alot.... for example if someone is saying a sentence, the person will say a few words, then it will be silent for a second or 2 then it will continue where it left off... I'm running at about the recommended (not required) system specs and it should be fine, but its not.... the only thing that's fine is the menu, where the music and menu background work fine and FMVs, which is fine also. It's just everything else thats messed up... plz help

also, the FMVs originally were sort of choppy, so I turned off Anti-Aliasing and fixed em, so don't tell me to turn off my anti-aliasing

My System

Are the in-game videos and audio stored on your hard drive or on the game CD? What speed is your cd-rom?
