Question Your Help Is Ggrreeaattllyy Appreciated!

I need to open some ports on my router. It is a linksys 4 port router model number NR041.

My NAT whatever that is is set to STRICT and I need it to be OPEN to be able to communicate with all players on XBOX LIVE.

Someone also told me something about DMZ. As you can see I am really confused. I know how to get to the setup page online I just don't know what to type in to open thes things.

I appreciate everybody's input. Thanks

DMZ means De-Militarized Zone, meaning that whatever device is using that IP will be unaffected by the router's firewall and other protective features.

To set this is easy. All you really need to know is the Xbox's IP address which the router can show you in the setup. You'll likely have to create a custom DMZ entry for it by inputing the data manually. For source it'll be WAN. For the private IP type in the Xbox's IP address. For incoming and outgoing ports type * or select any. For incoming IP type *.*.*.* or select any.

I hope this helps. I don't use Linksys so I'm adapting when my D-Link hardware uses to a general format.
