shutdown with games
hey, whenever i open some of my games(fps' mostly)but after about 5-10 minutes of playing(only playing though, not in the main menu) the game will freeze and play a sound loop, then the screen will turn black(with the sound loop still playing) and i cant do anything but hard reset. any ideas?

You can do this from your user_CP on the top left of the site as you are logged in. You can also enable it on your drop_down profile list and "enable it to show under your user name. I say this because any type of freezing/sound loops can be caused by more than a few things. What are helpful specs to list? Motherboard or PC make and Model numbers Operating system/Updates EG: XP W/SP1-2 Video card Sound card (Onboard or add-in) Power supply Brand/Watts & 12V rating (on the side of the PSU usually) What else is helpful to list? Remedies that you have already tried. This way we can help you narrow down the problem. For instance did you check the device manager for conflicts and look in Error Reporting Logs? Is Direct_X updated to DX 9.0c? Software that you think or we think might be invasive or cause conflicts (like Norton System Security Suite), and any other TSR's running in your systray.
