Evil BF2 New Patch Crashes

I downloaded the New Patch for BF2 and tried to start the game. As soon as I tried to start it the screen goes black and the whole computer freezez and has to be CTL ALT DEL to restart. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling BF2 to no avail. EA is useless as usual. I have the newest drivers and meet all the requirements for the game easily. Any ideas? Can't wait to cap those bunny hopping freaks now that the patch is in effect.

My System

i myself have had to troubleshoot BF2 on three machines that met the requirements. (and two that didn't, that's a whole new story.)

so, even if it meets the requirements, this is a touchy game......

i assume it worked before you patched it?

first, please tell me you don't have the no cd patch.

second, please list your video card model. (nothing else i need, just that)

third, list all the drivers you have used on that video card, beginning with the one you used to initially install the card.

with this info, i might be able to get you fixed up, so we can send you back out to be shot full of holes again.

:)
