defected disk

Is there any way that i can fix a defected disk? (my dad said its defected)
Possibly with out buyin programmes to do it, or do i have to just buy a whole new disk altogether?

It just spins in the drive doin nothing

Any help greatly apprecheated

You have not provided nearly enough information to know what your problem even is. What are your system specs? Do you mean the Hard Drive? Can you get into Bios (the black screen with lots of words when you start your computer)? When and how did this happen? Is it a new system or old?

You need to give us anything you think could help.

well i dont know were to find the specs but i found some:
XP professional vershion 2002
AMD-K6 (tm) 3D PROCESSOR
503MHZ
312MB of RAM
Aries pc

dont know were to find rest
And the problem is one of my games Command and conquer tiberian sun will not load it just spins slow then fast then slow etc. I tried running setup but it just freezes,
tho once when I tried to load it up then took it out it said failed to intalize 0xc0000006
. I looked in cd propeties and it said it was wrong volume. And my dad says its defected
Which is it and is there anyway to fix this

p.s were do I find system spec so i can post it.

Is it just this one CD that doesn't work, and is it an original or copy?

Can you see any of the CD files in Windows Explorer?

Can the CD be read in another drive or PC?

yeah its only the the game tho i just remeberd something. This happend before when i downloaded a mod. I had to uinstall windows then it would work, done it again then it stopped working again.
Im looking through the regesty but cant find the mod, To see if i can delet it.
And its a orginal copy,so has the mod done something to the game codes?

PS I do not want to Uninstall widows again as it takes ages to install

This must be something to do with the hard drive as if i uninstall windows and reinstall it works so if i find the game on the hard drive it might fix it
it just sprung to mind so it probbaly wont work but ill try
