Prototype Problem!!!!!

Hey dudes,
I was playing prototype and when i reached a certain part and the video played, the screen just goes black. The only way to exit it is alt-f4.
The video is the scene where alex takes the doc to a place to examine corpses.The scene starts with the doc entering the room.He hears a monstrous noise behind him and the screen goes black.I tried everything but the screen just remains black.I am able to see all other videos till now without any problems.

Here are my specs:
Inter core 2 duo 2.53 GHz
Motherboard : Intel DG31PR
RAM : 2 GB 667 MHz
Video card : Zotac 8500 GT 512 MB
HD : 250 GB
OS : Windows XP SP2

Help guys?

Hi there.

Firstly, please try all of these steps.

Secondly, SP2 for XP is known to be a true horror for compatibility issues. Try updating to Service Pack 3 from here.

Make sure you post back with your system specs if none of these work.

was the game purchased from a Game Store or was it Downloaded?
the installation could be corrupted
uninstall the game using Revo Uninstaller (from my sig)
be sure to remove all the game's remaining, restart your PC and then install the game again

Ah no problem...I just skipped the video by pressing spacebar...

so the problem is fixed?
The game was downloaded?
you could encounter more crashing problems if the game files are corrupted

Actually game was given by my friend.
I think he downloaded it.
I hope it does not crash again...
