Trying to use pcsx2 on windows 7

hi there please could i have some help.

I recentely upgraded my laptop from vista to windows 7 ultimate. i found some old ps2 games that i would like to use on my pc, i stumbbled across the software pcsx2 0.9 which i beleive is the latest version.

When i got all the correct files and installed it i tried to run a ps2 game from my dvd drive, the software runs ok and all the config's are working but when i try to boot up the game a white screen appears and it keeps loading and loading and nothing happens in the end it says not responding.

I have used this before on an older computer with xp and worked fine then, so what could be the issue here?

Hello Morgiee,
the pcxs2 is a PS2 emulator, you must use that emulator if you have a PS2 for several reasons:

1- using the legit games you own

2- using the PS2 BIOS cause it's the property of Sony Entertainment

so if you have a PS2 there is no need to play on your PC using a very unstable emulator
so where did you get the PS2 BIOS file from??

a friend of mine had it and showed me it, he didnt have a ps2 anymore but still had the games, so he put it in his dvd drive and with this software could play the games again.

he connected his ps2 controller and everything however it was legit games he was using not copies.

Why is this software illigal? the whole thing lookes harmless cos the pc acts like the old ps2 console. dont know you see im not technically minded

Sorry we can not help when it comes to Emulators,
Emulators are not illegal, but owning a PS2 BIOS file not bought by you is not legal
(in case you are wondering a PS2 BIOS, is what makes the PS2 lunches, it's the Welcome Screen + the menu when no DVD is inserted)
