Games freeze
Hey everyone
Ever since i started gaming games like Cod5 cod4 aoe3 just all of a sudden froze the graphics went all black and music repeated, i couldnt control alt delte out of it because the whole pc was frozen so i just had to hit restart on the pc and it restarted. It happens about every 30 mins of playing iplay on a server with 41 ping for me so thats not the problem. I have tried Cleaning pc for dust Reformatting PC Reinstalling cod5 updated all drivers opened case for air ( dunno if that cooled it down though ) nothing worked there... Is it possible that the patches are dodgy that i downloaded? because i used the same ones when i reformatted and when i reinstalled? I have 2gb of ram I use windows xp I have a Nvidia Geforce 8800 gt Intel core 2 duo CPU 2.67 GHz if u need me to dload anything i will anything just to fix this, ive tried so many forums... hope you guys can help :) |

Re: Games freeze
Has the machine ever run games properly?
You have a series 8 nvidia card and there are bios upgrades published by both americanmegatrends and award-phoenix that correct this sort of problem. I had a similar fault with CoD2 and Mediaeval II collapsing just as you describe. Updating the motherboard bios solved it completely. To obtain the bios update go to your computer makers website or to the motherboard makers web site. |

Re: Games freeze
Can you tell me your PSU (power supply unit), you will need to take off the side of the case and tell me the make and model along with the label for 3.3v, 5v and 12v amperage.
It should be safe for upgrading your bios as long as you get the correct bios and update it with a bootable disk and not try to do while in Windows itself as that is a very unstable way to try. What is the mother make and model? |
