EEK! Weird HL2dm error!

Hi , recently i have tried going on HL2dm and it gets the error 'Failed to lock index buffer in CMeshdx8:::LockIndexBuffer'
And then even worse my computer freezes then gets black screen then works. Then repeats this around 5 times :@

Any ideas?

Hello lzarwisa1221,
if you have a shortcut to half life 2 (if you don't just make one), right click on the shortcut and choose properties
in the target area, after the (") insert this line: -dxlevel 70 (there is a space between " and -)
try the game again and report back

I tried that and now i get the same half life error with the cant lock thing and now i get a display driver error saying "atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

CPU

make sure that you have the latest video card drivers

I have AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+ @ 2.7ghz
HIS ATI Radeon HD 2900GT (With the driver installed) DX10
4GB / 3GB (32 bit vista)DDR2 PC2-6400 Hyundai Electronics / OCZ
Motherboard - N61PB-M2S
I'd like to note that Deathmatch has worked previously with all these settings but 2gb ram less.

try to remove 2 gigs of RAM and keep only 2 gigs
play the game and see what happens
