Freezing on WoW (LiveKernelEvent error)

Hello,

Firstly I'd like to thank for your attention and time, I really apreciatte it!

This is the second time that I've had this laptop freeze on me when I'm playing World of Warcraft, on the first time (Few days ago, that was also the first day I tried playing WoW on this laptop) it was followed by a BSOD, this time I was able to alt tab and close the application safelly. I checked the Reports and Problem Solutions.. thingy on the Control Panel and it reports me a LiveKernelEvent error (My windows is in portuguese, so I had to translate it myself):

Hard Drive: TOSHIBA MK2552GSX (232 GB, IDE)

Everest doesn't recognize my Motherboard and CPU. I use a Vaio laptop, if it helps.

Let me know what other info I should provide. Is this a problem I should be worried? Should I stop playing WoW on this laptop for a while? I basically had the game opened for around 7 hours today.

Thanks again and my deepest apologies for using up your time.

Re: Freezing on WoW (LiveKernelEvent error)

Hello Tyra, and welcome to TSF

first of all playing the WoW on an intel integrated card could be OK but not recommended, anyways,
download the latest drivers for your intel card from here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...=2991&lang=eng

also, please download SIW from my sig, open it and choose "Sensors" under "Hardware"
check the temps.
play the game for about 10 to 15 mins or before the game freezes, minimize it and recheck the temperatures again.
please post both temp states (idle, under stress)

Re: Freezing on WoW (LiveKernelEvent error)

RockmasteR: Thank you for the welcome and your time to answer :)

I'm only playing here because my desktop seems to currently have a problem and is shutting down unexpectedly, but that's another issue. May I ask, however, why is it not recommended to play it on this laptop? Does it 'hurt' the laptop if I play it for too long? I found this about my Video card, Intel seems to believe it's good enough for WoW..

Here's what the Sensors are telling me (After roughly one hour of having WoW opened):

Quote:
ACPI
»Temperatures
»»TZ00 68șC (76șC Max)
»»TZ01 68șC (76șC Max)

Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5800
»Temperatures
»»Core #0 65șC (69șC Max)
»»Core #1 64șC (71șC Max)

Toshiba MK2552GSX
»Temperatures
»»HDD 30șC (31șC Max)
15 minutes later, not under stress:

Quote:
ACPI
»Temperatures
»»TZ00 54șC
»»TZ01 54șC

Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5800
»Temperatures
»»Core #0 47șC
»»Core #1 47șC

Toshiba MK2552GSX
»Temperatures
»»HDD 31șC
Are these temps under stress too high?

PS: Had an error installing the new driver, says the controller being installed isn't validated for this computer.

Re: Freezing on WoW (LiveKernelEvent error)

well your CPU is hitting the 70+ C and that what makes the game choppy, the CPU slows down to prevent overheating and damage
I suggest you get a Laptop cooler and I think it'll help you cooling down the Laptop
here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-410-_-Product

Maybe it's a bit expensive but it'll do very well

now there's nothing wrong playing games on a laptop
I was referring to the intel video card, it's not meant for games, but it should run WOW.
Now if you need help with your desktop, we can help as well, I mean that's why we are here for
