Games lag with good computer
Hello.
Firstly here are my specs: Vista 64bit Radeon HD4870 1gb Asus P5Q Pro 4gt RAM 800mhz E8500 at 3,8ghz Lately i've been having lag problems with games especially Fable: The Lost Chapters and Dragon Age Origins. Even though i have 50+ fps almost all the time in them, games still lag. Reducing graphics doesn't help. Turning off/on VSync doesn't help. My processor is overclocked but it's stable (Prime95) and temps are under 50 when gaming or doing stress test. GPU is always under 60 regardless of what i'm doing and drivers are the latest (9.10) I have defragled harddrive two times already with Defraggler, ran virus scans without any results. So yeah i'm running out of ideas. What should i do? |

Re: Games lag with good computer
Hello and welcome to TSF
What program are you using to test your FPS? With 50 FPS you should have absolutely no lag at all. You should see what your monitor's refresh rate is, if it's below 60 HZ then try to set it to at least 60 HZ and try to enable VSync afterwards.

Re: Games lag with good computer
when the lag happens does the fps drops or not?
also I don't trust that a 500W PSU can power your system you need at least a 650 W Quality PSU like Corsair http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...05&Tpk=Corsair 650 W

Re: Games lag with good computer
so that is not a lag
try to force Vsync On in the ATI Control panel for all games (general settings) also force triple buffering to ON (it'll help when the Vsync is turned on)
