[SOLVED] Many Problems with games

Ok, I have a GeForce 8800GTS 640 OC Edition. I have an ECS GeForce 7050-M motherboard, AMD Athlon 2 X64. Everything is up to date except the Graphics card because I am unable to use the nVidia control panel with the latest drivers for some reason, and so I get no AA with any games.

This problem I am having is very recent, within the week. Sounds will skip and/or pop while playing games. I've tested this on HL2 and WoW so far. In addition to the sound issues, my FPS will be high, but turning will be jerky, only turning. When I turn my WoW character or look left and right in HL2 the movement will not be smooth at all.

Also, youtube videos sometimes skip and pop as well.

Thoughts?

Hello Josh and welcome to TSF
try to force Vsync ON in the Nvidia Control panel and see what happens
what Forceware version are you using?

Re: Many Problems with games

VSync kills my FPS and changes nothing else.

I'm not sure what you mean by Forceware version. If you mean my GFX card driver version, its 181.20 because its the only version i found that AA works with and does not give me and "Incompatible Driver" error when i wan to use the nVidia control panel

What power supply are you using? Brand, model, wattage.

Corsair are good PSUs just check if it's 650 W, your card needs at least 600 W PSU

Re: Many Problems with games

Can you do a stress test on your video card and see if you get any errors with it? Use ATI tool to do the stress test.

Can you tell me your temps duriing a game and while your computer is idling with PC Wizard 2009.

Those temperatures look ok, can you try doing the ATI tool test?

Re: Many Problems with games

Ok I never did find a real solution to this. But now everything works great!
The secret?
I bought an MSI 770-C45 MoBo, an AMD Phenom II X4, and 6GB of 1666 DDR3 RAM
Then I installed Windows 7

Everything is beautiful :)

Sorry if someone was looking for a fix. I never found it
