Cod 5 support
So my friend bought a hp desktop. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883113111 (I think this is it. I will have more info later)
But it is his birthday and I was wondering if I could get him cod 5 and if his computer could handle it. I had him go on can I run it and it said that everything passed except for his graphics card but it said he had 1.7 gigs of video memory. It looked like that it was just integrated, is that a problem? Thanks, D |

Re: Cod 5 support
Hi.
If that is your friend's computer, it has Intel graphics and won't be able to run CoD 5 properly if it all. So I wouldn't recommend getting it.

Re: Cod 5 support
just like Lord Sirian said
Intel card won't handle the game at all it won't even open the video card is not about how many Vram it has, all the Vram in intel is not dedicated, it's shared from the system memory so I think a video card should be a good gift of course getting a video card needs a new power supply this is the Power Supply that came with the HP: Quote:
CRAP! that PC needs a good and quality PSU and I say that it's very overpriced for 450$ he can build a gaming PC that'll play all today's games

Re: Cod 5 support
A good prebuilt for gaming? None, really. Prebuilt gaming PCs either A.) use low quality parts, especially for the PSU and motherboard, to save on costs while still making it look like it has high specs, B.) are extremely overpriced for the hardware you get, or C.) both.

Re: Cod 5 support
Alienware is not good, they fall into both the "shoddy" and "overpriced" families.
At the least let us a compile a list of quality parts (including PSU and mobo) then he can take that list to a custom builder. Hell, I could build it for him if you're in the US. But prebuilt gaming PCs are crap 99% of the time, and finding the 1% that isn't crap is like trying to find a diamond in a pile of broken glass.

Really the best thing you could do is make a post in the Building Section of the forum, stating your (or his) budget and what games he wants to play at what settings.

Re: Cod 5 support
Well if he isn't open to having someone build it for him and ship it to him (either by a place like ncix or by one of us), then I guess we can't really help much. None of the prebuilt gaming PCs on the market are particularly great. Just tell him:
- More than 4GB of RAM is a gimmick - Graphics card is more important than processor - Dual core CPU is good for FPS games; quad core is good for RTS and RPG - Don't buy a system with water cooling unless you know what you're getting into - Alienware is garbage
