left 4 dead server problems

Hello I have been having a problem seeing public servers in left 4 dead, when i click on internet games it says no games found, but i can still follow friends and join games through steam groups. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and even reseting my router and ip but none of that works. If anyones had this issue and can solve it please help me out. thankyou.

Go to your Steam's My Games list, find L4D and right click, go to properties and find Verify Integrity of Game Cache and run that.

Also, where did you get your copy of the game? From steam or from a CD?

sorry it took so long to get back i was in yuma for work for a few days. i got my copy on steam, i verified the cache and tried it again but its still only letting me veiw servers that are part of my steam community, I just deleted everything l4d including the registry and im doing a fresh reinstall. we'll see if this works. thankyou.
