[SOLVED] Mouse suddenly stops working in CS:S and stutters

Okay, here's the deal.

Mouse works fine on desktop.

Mouse works fine on any other game than CS:S.

Mouse works fine in the main menu of CS:S.

Mouse works fine when I'm selecting team and skin.

Then the mouse starts to stutter and randomly every 10 seconds or so stops working altogether for a few secs, repeat.

I did not have this problem yesterday, and now I do. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? The only thing I did was to take my mouse with me and use it on another computer, at my friend's house. This should not affect anything though.

Steelseries Ikari Laser is my mouse. Tried googling, not much there. Verified CS:S installation, reinstalled CS:S. Did a system restore, nothing :/ Tried another random usb mouse, same problem

Any ideas, would be GREATLY appreciated =)

Hello NakkeZan

Does your mouse just freeze and you cannot move it? Or does your whole screen kind of freeze?
Have you tried finding drivers for your mouse?

Only the mouse freezes. And I wouldn't even say freezes, it just kinda locks in place and I can't move it around. This mouse doesn't need drivers, the mouse saves all the neccessary information on the mouse itself.

Hi.

This is fairly simple, but just try a different mouse, see if you get the same problem. My old mouse used to do this to me, it first started playing up in FEAR, and nowhere else... gradually it got worse and worse and I couldn't use it any more.

Re: Mouse suddenly stops working in CS:S and stutters

I tried with another USB mouse I had on hand, same problem.

Besides, it's not logical :( How can it work fine and the next day won't, and only on one game? :(

Did you try it in a different USB port?

Re: Mouse suddenly stops working in CS:S and stutters

Yes, of course, and I tried everything else imaginable. Reinstalling my OS finally removed my problem. Problem Solved.

Okeydoke. A bit drastic, but at least it worked. Glad it's working, kindly mark the thread as solved.
