Re: Halo Startup crash

Is that german? Do you speak german? Mind translating...it would help
Is this the first halo? I'd picture that to be old, you run it in xp compatibility mode?

Re: Halo Startup crash

You edited the picture and said one of the files is missing or corrupt...hmmm I'd recommend reinstalling using revo to uninstall it then reinstall using the setup...

And I still have the same problem.

What can I try else?

Re: Halo Startup crash

It would help if someone could translate that error message. Is your operating system in a different language?

Re: Halo Startup crash

No, it's just Dutch

I hope this is correct.

Re: Halo Startup crash

Still don't understand...I was guessing german. Looked european and I was half right!.... If it's dutch, you speak dutch and can you translate to english. Or if you don't...why is it in dutch?

EDIT: using google translator...

We've found that one of the Halo PC files is missing or damaged. We recommended for removing and reinstalling the game. (Shader / fx.bin) The instruction at 0x067673e7 referenced memory at 0x067673e7. The read or write operation ( "read") on the memory card failed. Click on OK to terminate program Click Cancel in detecting errors in the program.

Sounds like a file is missing, your using a trail halo correct? redownload the installer?

Re: Halo Startup crash

OOoooo you wanted in English.... I thought you wanted it in German....
Why it's Dutch now i'm Dutch so.

Yea it's the Trial version of Halo

Yea but the file is just in the directory of the game: (D:\Leon\Spelletjes\Halo Trial\shaders\fx.bin)

I tried redownloading and reinstalling and that won't work! (I used Revo for unistalling)
"BTW reinstalling works for 5 or 6 times and then I get the error again"

Re: Halo Startup crash

Try uninstalling the Vista Theme. They can often cause problems and conflict with other programs.

Re: Halo Startup crash

Yes I 100% agree with LS. Use revo too . I wouldn't trust a vista theme ~ my own personal experience.
I don't know how you installed the vista theme, but if you used a program to install it, remove that too.

Re: Halo Startup crash

I heard of that, also heard it installs a backdoor trojan. I once used a vista theme thing. My pc ran slow and it was just a mess, I just formatted and never used it again.
