Hello Paul, Welcome to TSF!

So you must have a laptop with that odd resolution. Whats the make and model of your laptop?

Well atleast upload your system specs, that monitor has a weird reason and I'd love to know the make and model.

Re: Left4Dead Problems

That is an odd resolution usually I see that for 14" laptops or some kind of laptop, you must have a small monitor then. Yea sorry about the confusion I just never see a desktop monitor with that resolution. So do you have a 17" wide screen monitor? Sorry that this is getting the better of me, I'm just really curious.

I need these specs

RAM
CPU
Motherboard
Graphics Card
PSU (power supply unit)
OS (which service pack and is it 64 bit XP?)

Re: Left4Dead Problems

go to control panel -> display -> settings -> Advanced -> monitor
set a lower refresh rate (like 60 hertz)
also try to lower the desktop resolution a bit
set it to 1024 x 768, maybe some games doesn't accept that resolution you have

Re: Left4Dead Problems

download revo uninstaller from my sig and open it
wait for the list to loads up and search for the ATI drivers, right click on it and select uninstall
follow the onscreen instructions to remove all its remaining from the registry and from your Hard Disk
restart your PC
install the latest drivers and see if that helps

Re: Left4Dead Problems

if you have the CD that came with the video card
insert it and install the drivers from it
you did not report back if you have installed the drivers for your monitor?

Re: Left4Dead Problems

Now it all makes sense. You see, my monitor is more like TV, so it is able to function only on certain resolutions and if i get a game, which supports a higher resolution than 1152 x 864 it shows "Mode not supported". So i either have to change resolution WITHOUT entering the game(somehow) or i can just look to the blue screen lol.I guess i should buy new monitor, whant ya think ? ;/
