Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
That sounds about right for a GTX260. If you want higher framerates either lower the graphics detail settings or lower the resolution.

Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
I personally would keep the resolution, unless it needs to be vise verse. I don't remember crysis settings in the back of my head. But follow up on Phædrus2401 and my advice and report back if it works or not. Remember crisis is a very demanding game.

Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
Simply run the game at a lower resolution, 1024x 720 is a good one, you can run it with AA x2 or x4 if you wish at that resolution.

Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
Crysis is only dual-threaded, so it doesn't really benefit from a quad core. But the main limiting factor here is your graphics card. The GTX260 is nice, but it isn't powerful enough to play games like Crysis on the highest settings at a resolution as high as 1680x1050.

Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
You can get a GTX 300 if you want. When they come out, that is.

Re: Cysis 20 - 22 frames
1680 x 1050 is a very high resolution
try 1440 x 900 when you said very high settings, of course you are using dx10 Crysis can be played at 25+ fps due to it's special shaders etc.. but of course 30 fps+ is better try some settings at High like the shadows and the shaders

Re: Crysis 20 - 22 frames
The Radeon 5750 and 5770 wouldn't be a real upgrade, the 5770 gets about the same performance as the 4870, and thus the GTX260. The 5850 would be a step up, though, and the 5870 is the strongest card on the market right now.

Re: Crysis 20 - 22 frames
Thankyou all for the advice heres some of the things i tried as u instructed:
Lowering Resolution FPS went up into the 40s!! mostly around 35 -38ish Lowering settings (HIGH) also made it go at 31 - 34ish but maintained the original res soo ill probably just play it at lower res.... I was thinking about getting an ATI card but ill hang on to this one untill Nvidia releases their DX11 cards and discuss with you guys which one 2 purchase. Thankyou all again for your help! JOe

Re: Crysis 20 - 22 frames
Try running the game in DirectX 9 (Vista + DX10 card = Crysis defaults to DX10). Even on my 2x GTX280 i get no more than 40fps on directX 10. DX10 for Crysis is poorly coded into the game.
To run Crysis in DX9 mode create a new shortcut to the desktop, in the Target line add -dx9 after everything else.
