Exclamation Help with KOTOR2

Help with KOTOR 2

I have exactly the same problem mate, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I have the same thing with the sound, but you cant reactivate it in-game, so I'm stuck there.

Re: Help with KOTOR2

Cheers dude,
My PC has the following:
Vista Ultimate
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 5600
RAM: 2Gb (2048mb) ddr2
GC: ATI radeon x1300 (the game has worked on this card before)
SC:WinTV PVR PCI II
Directx 9.0
OpenGL 2.1.8543

basically, when i open the game, I get the start menu (before the actual game starts) with Game, Config, Updates etc. then i click game, and it tries to start, but i get vistas usual, "Kotor2 has stopped working blah blah" but
if i go into config, and check the disable sound tick box, then the game runs fine. Every so often, the game used to run without me having to disable the sound, but it has stopped being so inconsistent recently, and now refuses to start altogether. The disc is quite scrathed thanks to years of use but it has not affected loading times on the rare occasions where the game has started running.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help with KOTOR2

ok, what I want you to do is this:
uninstall your current sound card drivers
and restart your PC
get the latest drivers for your sound card from the manufacturer's site, if you don't know how, just post your sound card manufacturer and model and I'll help you with it

Re: Help with KOTOR2

open dxdiag and post it here. To do that follow these instructions

start menu
type "dxdiag"
and press enter
press the save all info button.
It'll bring up a save box.

Post it here as an attachment.
click the go advanced button and in manage attachments
click browse and find the file and upload it here.
