game runs slow
hi guys, i bought the kane and Lynch dead man from my shop today and was looking forward to plaing it. The game installed fine ad the game loaded up ok, however when coming to play the game the graphics is not an issue, if anything its fantastic however coming to the overall smoothness of the game is really bad, the gameplay isreally slow and it takes time for the charecters to move and when shooting the bullets delay.
I installed a graphics card into the computer about a year ago as i wanted to play COD modern warfare cos my intergrated chip would never do, also i upgraded the memory in the computer so that the cod game would run smoothley, with the two upgrades the COD game is playable, however playing this game is proving difficult, iv tried lowering the quality of the image and the resolution size but this doesnt change anything. m supprised id the card and memory can play COD and not this game, if anythin it should be the other way around! Here is the two relevent peices of infomation to show you, it was taken from the dxdiag and its the system spec and the graphics: Graphics: ![]() Computer Spec: ![]() What should i do to be able to play this game smoothley? im almost there the graphics is right and th sound is right, its just the cae of speed and smoothness of the gameplay? Cheers |

Re: game runs slow
Hello Morgie,
Your CPU is the bottleneck here. YOu should not bother upgrading a Packard Bell and just buy a new computer. Even a high end single core is nothing compared to a 1.6 ghz dual core. The amount of procession done by 2 cores at once can smoke any single thread issue. The game also probably requires a dual core too. almost all modern games require a dual core. You might get some games that a more low end and do not. |

Re: game runs slow
Intel Celeron is before the P4 CPU's. Its not worth it to upgrade to P4 and spend money bit by bit on such an old system.
Its worth getting a new computer for sure. A good gaming computer can be around $550 or maybe a bit less but that doesn't include monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard. |

Re: game runs slow
Buying a pre-built or custom PC is rarely a good idea since they use shoddy parts and overcharge you. I recommend building one from parts. You can build an ok gaming computer, including operating system, for $650, and a high-end one for $800. If that's too daunting, if you're in the states I might be able to assemble it for you, for 10% of cost + shipping.

Re: game runs slow
You could go over into the Building section of the forum, under Hardware. I'm in there a lot.
Right now the best bang for the buck is a Core 2 Duo CPU like the E8400, an Intel P45 chipset motherboard from Asus or Gigabyte, 4GB DDR2 800 or 1066 RAM, an ATI Radeon 4800 series card (from Sapphire or PowerColor) or Nvidia GeForce GTX200 series card (from EVGA or BFG Tech), and a 650-850W Corsair or SeaSonic PSU.
