[SOLVED] TF2 and my cpu

as of recently my cpu is running at max without throttling back while i play tf2.
I recently put in a new cd drive(my DVD one wont run CD's any more). Could this have done it? and if not, what is going on?
edit-forget the tf2 bit every game is making it max..
edit-it was running off of one core...
AMD 7750
4gig ram
ATI sapphire HD 4830

Sorry but what is your actual problem, do the games run properly?

It's all working just fine now, vista's just being vista i guises
