Re: core 2 quad

Hello SandySam and welcome to TSF
Quad Core will be more than enough to play COD 4, but the CPU is not important as the video card in games
you need a good card to play the game
what is your budget?
what is your current system?
what is your PSU? (model, wattage, and Amps (A) under the +12V line) you have to open the side case of your tower and look at the PSU sticker (yes the big box on the top)

Re: core 2 quad

Hello.

As RockmasteR said, you will definitely need a graphics card to play CoD4. I would say that a Core 2 Quad is actually overkill for CoD4 though. So unless you specifically want a Quad-core CPU, I'd go with a core 2 duo, as they're less expensive.

Hey Sandy, and welcome to TSF!

DO you have a budget in mind? This is not exactly the section for building a compute but if you want you can go over to building section and give a PM to the link of it. I can help you there as its more suited to it there.

Re: core 2 quad

You need an additional card for playing it at reasonable frame rates, resolutions and graphic options.
If your board comes with an adequate (borderline incapable lol) onboard GFX display chip you could still RUN the game...likely without any enjoyment whatsoever.
