Aion Online Freezing at login screen

So for about a week now I've been trying to log into aion online but the game freezes at log-in. I've read many other people complaining about the same issue. Is it doing this because the beta is now over or is there something wrong with my computer? If it's still doing this tomorrow it's gotta be something because today is the first day to be able to create a character ahead of time if you preorder, which I did.

I think that since the beta is over, you can no longer connect to the game servers, but like you said, can still create a character.

To be sure, what is the error you get when trying to connect? It may just be a network glitch.

I checked with steam and that appears to be exactly the functionality they are providing right now. Text from the game info page pasted below.

Pre-Select — Players who have pre-ordered Aion can login on the 18th at 12:00 PDT to pre-select their character name and choose a server. (Pre-selection ends at 9:00 AM PDT on the 20th)

Hey Curtbud,

So if you live the -5gmt timezone it should be around 3 pm that the game will have full functionality. I will confirm what freenerd just said.


Preselection Server Status

Seeing as our Preselection phase is now ongoing and servers are filling up fast, we decided to put together a list of servers and their character creation status.

If a server is temporarily closed or temporarily only accepting characters for one of the races, it may still open up at a later point. We continually monitor our servers in order to keep them balanced, so keep checking back if there's a particular server you are interested in. Capacity limits may change if we see population level out and allows for it.

Temporarily Locked indicates that a server currently is full and that we for a short time need to halt character creation. Don't worry - as other servers fill up and the overall situation balances out, it may soon be unlocked. It is important for us that a few servers are not left overcrowded and others empty.

Elyos/Asmodian Only indicates that one race is currently too large on a server and that we have been required to temporarily only allow characters from the other side. Don't worry - as the two sides balance out, the one that is disabled may soon again become enabled.

We will do our best to keep this list updated to reflect server status until Preselection ends on Sunday morning, 20th of September. Do not use this list as your only means of monitoring, as it may not always be entirely up to date.
