! All my games keep freezing ! Plz help
Ok, my problem is that my PC dosent seem to like playing games, which is a bit of a problem as I do.
![]() It will install, start, and begin to play any of my games but prety much every one of them constantly 'freeze' (and I dont mean bad lag, it completley stops dead in its tracks) at regular intervals, and then continues from where it froze. How long the freeze lasts for and how long I can play it for before another freeze seems to be similar for all my games. I tried having the Task Manager open, ready for when the problem occured, and when it did happen, the CPU Usage History bars under Performance showed that while a game was working, I got around 60-80% CPU Usage, but when frozen, it dropped to around 20%. Dont know if that helps but figured Id just say anyway. I highly doubt it is some sort of virus or because I do not defrag often, as this is what was happening the first time I tied to play a game on the PC when it was brand new, just out of the box, so I guessed it was hardware related. (But for your comfort if you think I sould defrag and virus check, I already have anyway.) The tower is NOT kept in a cramped, hot place with poor ventilation. It is on top of a desk in a cool room with nothing on top or either side of the tower. It is only games that the problem is with (they are all fullscreen, if that is relevant). Films, anything on the internet, video editing, music, ect..., all work fine. Games that use internet connection, games that dont, they are all affected, even when I dont have internet connection, when I pull my USB wireless reciever thing (I forgot what its called =S) out. ![]() And for those who might be thinking: "I bet he didnt read the system requirements before buying ", I did, I can run Guild Wars, Red Alert 3, Unreal Tournament 3 to Crysis and others, they are all plauged.I have searched high and low for a solution or someone that is having this problem, but have found nothing and no-one. ![]() Anyway, here are the basic specs: AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor, 2.1GHz 3GB RAM NVidia GeForce 8200 Dont know what motherboard ![]() At first I didnt really think much of it but it has grown to be a pain in the butt. ![]() Please ask questions if theres somthing you think I should have included. Any help would be appreciated.
