Fallout 3 running slowly

Hi,
I recently purchased a copy of fallout 3 for my new computer but Ive noticed that even on the lowest settings it seems to lag like crazy. Ive checked my specs and had a few checks on "Can you run it" and I believe it should be able to run it pretty well yet I am very dissapointed in it's performance. I was hoping somebody might know what's wrong or what's dragging the performance down. here are my specs:

AMD Phenom X3 8550 Triple Core Processor
4GB Ram
500 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9100 Graphics
Windows Vista 64-bit sp1

thanks,
Chris

Re: Fallout 3 running slowly

your GPU is a bit weak and fallout 3 really depends on GPU, can you run it is bit is sometime/always misleading, I don't think it detects the speed of GPUs but rather it detects the hardware support for things like shader versions and all that techno stuff.

try turning settings down a bit, if you're running at like the lowest setting and still lags a lot, then something is wrong.

So yea, get good video card and an appropriate power supply for the new video card and you should be set to play some games.

Re: Fallout 3 running slowly

May i just say that your Power Supply is rubbish!
You need a new one to power your system and i think it will make improvements in the gameplay.
Also what billpnats said is correct, that the GPU is also quite weak.

Re: Fallout 3 running slowly

You should just purchase a new Computer as the case may not be able to fit regualr ATX size motherboards and only their proprietary sized ones. The case will not provide sufficient cooling too. You'll want to get a nice CPU to go with it too and the Phenom Triple cores are not really that great. There aren't many games that support triple core CPU's.
