Warcraft III
About a month or so, I decided to reformat my hard drive. I reformatted normally, and i installed all my drivers from cds, except my video card driver, which i downloaded from the internet. After i reformatted, I began having problems with Warcraft III specifically. I dont have any problems with any other games. When I'm playing Warcraft III, sometimes all of the sudden the game more or less crashes, leaving a disorientated and shifting screen, like a cubism painting only shifting extremely quickly. This started happening right after i reformatted. First I tried reformatting again, which didnt help. Then i tried using an earlier driver, which quelled the problem temporarily, but not completely. Then i tried cleaning my fan, suspecting that my card was overheating, but that didnt help either. I tried reinstalling warcraft III, but it didnt work. Im kinda running out of options, could anyone help me please?

Re: Warcraft III
Hello DarkxStrife and Welcome to TSF!
Download RevoUninstaller from my signature, and use it to Uninstall Warcraft 3, after it is uninstalled, reboot your computer, then install it again. Also click Steps before Posting and make sure you follow those instructions.

Re: Warcraft III
ive done steps one (my specs overqualify), two (its a recurring problem), i dont often have programs running when i play i almost always exit instant messengers and close all windows before i start gaming, i regularly install direct x updates, seven, warcraft doesnt need cd but its new regardless, ive tried reinstalling without third party uninstallers.
There are no mods for warcraft that i know of, cept dota but its a map. and it doesnt necessarily happen during battlenet. I originally had the newest driver for my video card when it happened, so i backtracked a little, which drastically reduced the occurence, but it still happens from time to time. Strange thing about it is that it happens extremely randomly. I can have warcraft open for 2 minutes and have it crash, and i can have it running for hours and hours and have it run perfectly. I'll try the reinstall with the revouninstaller, hopefully that will fix it. thanks a bunch. Last edited by DarkxStrife; 08-21-2009 at 02:05 AM. |

Re: Warcraft III
Hi there.
Can you please check your temperatures with Everest and SensorsView, both while idle and after 10 - 20 minutes playing. Also, is Warcraft 3 the only game you are experiencing this problem with?

Sensor (idle)
Sensor Properties: Sensor Type HDD GPU Sensor Type Driver (NV-DRV) Temperatures: GPU 54 °C (129 °F) Hitachi HDP725032GLA360 32 °C (90 °F) Sensor (after 10-20 minutes of playing) Sensor Properties: Sensor Type HDD GPU Sensor Type Driver (NV-DRV) Temperatures: GPU 59 °C (138 °F) Hitachi HDP725032GLA360 38 °C (100 °F) Sensors View Idle CPU 42 °C / 108 °F GPU 56 °C / 133 °F SYS 0 °C / 32 °F AUX 0 °C / 32 °F HDD 33 °C / 92 °F After Play CPU 44 °C / 112 °F GPU 59 °C / 139 °F SYS 0 °C / 32 °F AUX 0 °C / 32 °F HDD 39 °C / 103 °F Yes Warcraft is the only time this happens. And I'm assuming you have to use the report feature in Everest in order to find temperatures so thats what i did. |

Re: Warcraft III
Hi DarkxStrife, sorry for the late reply.
Could you please check the voltages Everest reports both idle and under load. Also, it was hard to tell from the video, but when the screen starts going crazy does the audio cut out or start looping or does it continue as normal? |

Re: Warcraft III
sorry for the late response, ive been out of town
i dont know how to check the voltages for everest, do you mean do a full system report and find the cpu voltages? cause thats all i could find the audio is fine, nothing is wrong with it when it happens, it continues as normal. everything that happens i can hear. like if someone gets first blood when it happens, i can hear it |

Re: Warcraft III
If Everest doesn't work can you try PC wizard 2009.
I would also like you to try running this program here , ATI tool for at least 20 minutes and tell me if you get nay errors. This program will show if your video card's ram is faulty or unstable. |

Re: Warcraft III
Hello again,
I would try to swap graphic cards, if you have a friend or can borrow one. I see that you mentioned your drivers, this is either your graphic card going out, or your drivers are corrupted. That would be my assumption.

Re: Warcraft III
Try swapping out video cards. This is artifacting and most likely your video cards ram is messed up and beyond repair. If your video card is still under manufacturer's warranty you can try sending it back to them for a new replacement.
this is a called a RMA. First see if you can borrow a friends graphic card. If it fixes the issue you know that your current graphics card is defunct. |

Re: Warcraft III
Make sure that when you do a memtest86 run you use only one stick of ram installed at a time or it can give false errors.
Memtest86 ISO Use imgburn to make a bootable disk |
