Microphone Issues

I just reformatted my computer and installed windows XP Pro, SP 2 on my computer. Everything is set up, all my drivers seem to be installed and everything and my mic works in sound recorder no problem. But when I try to use it on a game I play (Day of Defeat: Source) or any STEAM related game it doesn't seem to work. I've played around with the settings and it's still coming out really fuzzy whenever I test it. It picks up what I'm saying but it just echos and sounds like it's in a tornado. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know the make or the type of mic, but I do have a picture.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Microphone Issues

Hello Duane, and welcome to TSF

I wwas wondering if you could try searching for your CD that came with this microphone. If you can find that and install it, could you do this?

open control panel
device manager
under the category sound, video and game controllers
tell me what it lists there.

Re: Microphone Issues

For some reason it started working on it's own. So I dunno what happened. Thank you for taking the time to respond though.
