Counter Strike source Problem!

Recently I have been noticing that my FPS in Counterstrike Source is VERY low.

I play Crysis on High with about 60-70 FPS during a recon mission and about 40-50 in a heavy firefight.

I used a fps config to get everything to the lowest possible setting in CS:S and even made sure everything is on LOW I still only get about 100-150. When people I play with have worse cards than me and they are getting ~300.

I've Tried Restarting, Updating Drivers, Defraging.
I don't know what to do anymore..

Thanks for the help in advance!

P.S.
My CPU is actually 3.2 Ghz

Hello again,

Have you followed all of the steps in the "Steps before Posting link"?

Ensure your DirectX is up to date. You can download the update from my signature.

Also are you connecting to servers that are low ping for you, local servers, under 100 ping.

Yes, I have updated everything that I could think of short of BIOS.

I tried reinstalling also, no avail.

Re: Counter Strike source Problem!

Can you please post your full Power Supply specs. Due to the fact a 650W PSU is boarder line for the 200 series and the fact your pushing your GPU and PSU to its limits with trying to render 300fps (Eyes can't tell the difference past 60fps) the PSU's output has probably dropped.

Could you also post a screen of your voltages while playing a gam in Windowed Mode. (When minimized games tend to use less power)

Re: Counter Strike source Problem!

Those voltages are fine.
The latest graphical drivers have introduced new features one of them is called Ambient Occlusion. This feature improves shadows through alpha textures (fences or any transparent textures), also controls ambient light making game lighting more realistic. This feature uses more GPU power and can make your card render less frames.

Also different drivers will have different impacts on different computer systems. Try using older drivers.

Last note, +100fps is excellent for any game.

Re: Counter Strike source Problem!

Well someone who has a 8800 GTS should NEVER be getting more FPS than a 250 GTS OCed.

I don't see how a 8800could ever beat a 250.. since a 250 is a rebadged 9800 GTX.

Re: Counter Strike source Problem!

Frame rate depends on more than just the graphics card. CPU, RAM and PSU play important factors in the rendering of frames.
Your E6750 will be bottlenecking your card for one thing as i use to own that CPU with my GTX280.
But like i said the most recent drivers have new features that are enabled on the GPU which will be using processor time hence less frames.
Have you rolledback a few driver versions.
