how do i work a LAN? when i look for LAN servers, nothing appears, and when my friends host a LAN server, no one can find it and he's in the room alone!! how can u play online thru a line??

LAN stands for Local Area Network.

It does not use the internet as its connection, generally, to play on a LAN, you need to be in the same building as the people you wish to play with. So if your friend were to bring his computer to your place, and you set up a LAN between your two computers, you could then play with eachother over that LAN connection.
