[SOLVED] 9800 GTX overheating?
I have a 9800 GTX vid card with a 750w PSU, I have had it since early June, and I also run it Vista. I was playing a game when everything went black and I got a message saying something like "Ran out of video memory, quitting application". I restarted the computer and I didn't have a wallpaper, then I started up the game and everything was fine except for a littlebit of lag. I left it off to cool down after that. Could my card be overheating and why did everything keep working after that, did it shut down to save itself or something, or will it go downhill from here?

Re: 9800 GTX overheating?
You need to run the fan at 100% when gaming. Most of the time out
of the box it runs at 30%, this is to make you feel that the card is quiet, at the expense of a heating issue. You may have recieved soft ware to allow you to do this when you purchased the card. If not do a search for Riva tuner, there is a tool in there that will allow you to set up the fan.....
