Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
Without fail when I try to connect to TF2 servers it loads the team selection screen and then errors out. I used to run TF2 on my old computer but ever since I got this new one I havent been able to get it to load up properly.
I have had the following two errors occur: The instruction "0x11ace0f4" referenced memory at "0x0dd08". The memory could not be "read". and The instruction "0x11ace0f4" referenced memory at "0x17bf0a4". The memory could not be "read". I am running Windows XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron 530 with an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 2.4GHz. It has an integrated video card (yeah I know, bleh): Intel G33/G31 Express. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
You can't play newer games like TF2 on Intel Graphics chipsets.
You really need to get a decent graphics card.

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
Have you tried upgrading your video card drivers? If you don't have the latest ones, you can download them here. Also, how much memory do you have installed?

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
How long have you had the computer? As has already been mentioned, Intel graphics are not the best for gaming.

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
Yeah I know the integrated vid isnt the best, I was just hoping there was something I could do for the near future until I was able to get the money together for a video card. There is an open PCIE slot on the board I just havent had the spare cash to do something with it.
Guess Im stuck until then, thanks for the help either way. |

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
All Pre-built Dell computers run all their hardware on a PSU just big enough to support the system. Adding to it will cause the Power Supply to be underpowered, so you will also need to upgrade the PSU if you wish to get a graphics card.

Re: Team Fortress 2 error after joining servers
This is the main reason I am having to put off buying the new vid card. I bought the Dell when my old computer I had built myself had both HDDs die on me after I moved to my new apartment (Im fairly sure one of my cousins dropped my tower when I wasnt looking) as it was cheaper than buying two new drives and I got a better processor to boot.
Now Im stuck waiting until I can afford both the PSU and the graphics card. At least it runs WoW. |
