[SOLVED] Cs:s Lag Problem

Well, lately i've had this problem where about 30 minutes into the game its starts to lag like **** and its like every 5 seconds. I already got the new driver update for my video card but its still the same. My FPS stays at 60 then it drop to 30-20 every 5 seconds and my ping is about 50 - 70. I ve read some other threads and it seems they've been having the same problem as me

System specs :

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 5600+ 2.9 GHz
Video card: Nvidia 9600gt 1gig
RAM : 4 gigs
Os: Windows Vista Ultimate 64x

Hello Zeonyxorich, and welcome to TSF.

In addition to Jasons question,

Can you also post your power supply.

To see your power supply, turn off your computer, unplug your power cord, open your computers case(normally on the side of the computer) and write down the brand, model, and watts.

Also make sure you click on "Steps before Posting" link in my signature(black font)

Please click on the "DirectX" link in my signature(blue color), and update your DirectX to the current version.

Also you stated your drivers are updated. So we can bypass that(i would redownload them just incase though)

A big consideration for pings on online games are the servers you are connected to. What i normally do when i play steam games, like Counter Strike Source, is when im at the server list, i click the PING tab, to filter the pings from lowest ping to highest. Make sure you connect to a server that has a low ping for you.

Yeah i always play on a low ping server and im pretty sure i got directx 10 but ill try it anyways
