Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

Hi and Welcome to TSF, just from looking at your graphics card, I can tell you that you won't be able to play those games. - You really need a better one.

Something like this would be great for those games and not too costly.

Asus Nvidia 9800GT
Cost ~ $85 (after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121300

Also, can you please post your PSU information.

To find it, open your case, you will find a large brick shaped box inside, it will have a large sticker on it.

Post everything on the sticker.

Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

hello KarMen13

Your laptop here should be able to play all of those games on low settings at least. Out of those games list which are pretty cool games I've played myself, Velevet Assassin is very crappy game that would've look inventive if it was made around 2004.

Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

Should be able to play all of them on medium to low settings apart from ARMA 2 which is very demanding. I'm running it on a q6600 with 4gb DDR2 800mhz and a Geforce 280 1gb and i've had to tone down the graphics quite a bit to get a solid frame rate.

...and Velvet Assassin is, in my opinion, absolute rubbish.

Lol, that was so careless of me. Disregard my last post KarMen13.

Sorry about that. - I'm tired lol.

If you really want to experience the full beauty of newer games, you should really get a desktop. (if possible).

You can get a decent gaming desktop PC for $600 - $1000.

Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

Hello Karmen13,

If ever you need to know if your computer can handle certain games, you can google it like this.

For example: Arma 2 System Requirements.

Anywho, here are the system requirements for each game:

Arma 2 - Can you run this game? Yes
Minimum Requirements:

* CPU: 2 GHz
* RAM: 512 MB
* Nvidia Geforce FX with 128 MB RAM & pixel shader 2.0, ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 MB of RAM & pixel shader 2.0
* Free HD Space: 3 GB (or more as needed for downloadable addons)
* Software: Windows XP or Windows 2000 and DirectX 9

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - Can you run this game? Yes
* Windows XP (with SP3) / Windows Vista (with SP1)
* Intel Pentium 4 3.2 GHz, Intel Pentium D 2.66 Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3500 +
* 1 GB for Windows XP / 2 GB for Windows Vista
* Graphics card with 256 MB RAM, compatible with DirectX 10.0 or DirectX 9.0c with Shader Model 3.0 - supported cards: NVIDIA GeForce 6800/7600-7950/8600-8800/9600-9800/GTX 260-280, ATI RADEON X1650 - 1950/HD 2400-2900/3650-3870/4650-4870
* 4 GB of disk space
* Sound card compatible with DirectX 9.0c
* DVD-ROM

Velvet Assassin - Can you run this game? Yes
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista
Processor: Pentium 4 @ 3 GHz
Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 5+ GB Free
Video Memory: 256 MB (nVidia GeForce 6800)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

Prototype - Can you run this game? Yes
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP SP3/Vista SP2
Processor: Intel Core 2 DUO E4700 (2.6 GHz)/AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 8 GB Free
Video Memory: 256 MB (nVidia GeForce 7800/ATI Radeon X1800)
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9.0c
Keyboard & Mouse
DVD Rom Drive

Also make sure you have a CD/DVD-ROM Drive, many of these newer games require a DVD-ROM reader.

But overall you should be able to play all of these games, if it is a little laggy adjust the graphic settings in the options menu.

Hope this helped!

Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

Hello
you can play all these games you mentioned on very low settings except Prototype
it needs a great video card
and unfortunately your video card can't handle it
I borrowed a copy of Prototype from my friend to see how it works on my PC and I have a 9400GT (it has double the performance of 8400 GS) and I played the game at 800 x 600 and on medium settings with low shadows and I was getting 25 to 32 fps
so imagine how it'll work for you
I'm just telling that to not spend lots of money on a game that won't run well on your laptop and of course you're free to get it or not

Re: Can Dell XPS M1330 play...

Hello Karmen13,

I think I made a mistake in my earlier post when I said it should be able to play the games on at least the lowest settings. I meant to say it should be to play at most on just the lowest settings or close to them.
