Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
Ever since I switched my oldie moldy soundblaster card with another oldie moldy soundblaster Live! (ct4830) card, my UT3 (that never had problems before) makes this sound like a tractor through out my whole game...
It's the best way I can describe it. Sorry if it doesn't make sense at any point in time. Anyways...So I figured it might be the sound driver, so I updated it. Didn't help. I then uninstalled my retail version of ut3 and installed my steam version. That didn't help either. I tried turning off the sound in ut3 and that didn't work either. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Last edited by Tiber Septim; 07-21-2009 at 01:37 AM. |

Hello lwrabbit420,
Why did you change out your old sound card in the first place, Is it broken? Can you post system specifications? CPU RAM HDD Motherboard Graphics Card Sound cards (the other sound card too) Operating System (64bit?) Power Supply Unit(PSU)

Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
The only other time this type of sound goes on is on my audio software (Reason 4.0) which is where I use asio4all. But other than that..no, it works perfectly fine when it comes to music. And other games as well such as tf2.
My specs, 8600gt 512vram, Sound Blaster Live! (ct4830), P4 w/hyperthreading, 3 gigs of ram, xp 32bit, I don't know my motherboard but I know my Dell model is "Dimension E510" Last edited by lwrabbit420; 07-21-2009 at 12:17 AM. |

Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
Also, did you install the drivers for the new sound card and remove the old ones?

Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
I never removed the old drivers, how do I do that and how am I suppose to recognize what driver i'm suppose to remove? All I know is my previous soundcard's model is ct4730..K nvm I found out how...in device manger with the "view hidden files" thing checked, under sound video and game controllers I see:
Audio Codecs Creative Game port Creative Sb Live! value (updated recently) Legacy Audio Drivers Legacy Video Capture Devices Media Control Devices Microsoft Kernel System audio device Microsoft Kernel wave Audio Mixer Microsoft WINMM WDM audio compatibility Driver Tracker Cam Video Capture Device USB Audio Device USB Audio Device Video Codecs.... Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
You never took a screenshot of all of your drivers. Your missing from the letter H to A for the uninstallation list.

Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
I think that his sound card runs using windows Drivers
try to download those drivers from here: http://www.findmysoft.com/drivers/do...rd-driver.html as for Asio4all I use a lot of audio software like Ableton, Virtual DJ and FL Studio, maybe you need to play a bit with the Asio settings so try this: get the latest Asio4all (2.9) open it and choose advanced settings, check these Settings: "Always Resample 44.1kHz <-> 48Khz" "Force WDM Driver to 16Bit"

Re: Ut3 audio crackling/stuttering/weird noises
please no more "bumping"
it is not the one you highlighted, it's under it "Creative SB live! value" right click on it and choose uninstall don't restart your PC yet download Driver Sweeper from here : http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ open it and choose Creative sound from the list and choose clean now restart your PC and download the drivers I posted in post #13 if you do not use Driver Sweeper, windows will reinstall the drivers you had removed when you restart
