Hi and welcome to TSF!
Have you tried uninstalling with Revouninstaller and reinstalling again?

Hello djs 22out, and welcome to TSF,

Have you updated Fallout 3 to version 1.6 Bethesda patches can be found here.

hello djs_22out
that looks like a corrupted save game, do you have any other save points?
download the latest patch for Fallout 3 as Mcninja suggested also try another save point and see if that loads, if not I'm afraid you need to start a new game
that happened to me once, but it happened when I first got outside in the wastelands and saved it

This could be another problem. Running a 600W PSU on a GTX285 is not sufficient to power the card properly. While your system may seem fine for now you will experience overheating issues with your graphics card and possibly your CPU. In the long run it will damage your Hardware.

I recommend you upgrade to a more suitable PSU.
+800W with 12v@ 52a (The GTX28* series requires a minimum of 40a on the 12v rail and dont forget the rest of your system will need power as well.)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256016

You dont have to buy this exact one but please look for one with at least 80% efficiency, 52a on the +12v and is a well known brand. Cheap PSUs are not ment for high end machines.

Re: Fallout 3 getting crashed on PC.

The PSU Aus_Karlos recommended is a good PSU and you should definitley upgrade your PSU ASAP.

Regardless of whether or not the problem is fixed by a replacement PSU, you still need to upgrade.

Hi Rockmaster,

I did have other save points. It usually occurs when I save the game in the wastelands. Does this mean that I should not save the game there. I do have updated my game to latest patch available. Any more suggestions.

I downloaded this patch but when it did not get completed. It does not give me an error message and is closed out when it starts the game. I think it gets stuck on 98%.

it's OK to save the game in the wasteland just try to load another save point and continue your game from there

Re: Fallout 3 getting crashed on PC.

When you say you've downloaded it had not been complete, are you saying in the past when the patch wasn't finished you had that problem or it doesn't complete at the 98%, or both? I'm a bit confused there.

It does not get completed evertime I try to run it. One more question, Running a 600W PSU on a GTX285 is sufficient to power the graphics card???

Should I switch over to 750W, but I am not facing this kind of problem in any other game. I did face some problems in Mirror's Edge when I enabled PhyX option. Advice.

Re: Fallout 3 getting crashed on PC.

You need a Corsair 850w for a GTX 285.

Corsair 850w
$140
after rebate $110

The GTX 285 is a power hungry card. When you look at what you should be running at minimum you need to add 50% for safety so your PC at max load is only using around 70% of your PSU's max capacity.
