hey guys i am having the same problem but i have a ******* nvidia 9800 GT and supcom ran on my old 8600 GT before and i cant confirm but i think it did on the 9800 as well. my warning says "please ensure system has minimum specifications" and "please verify system has current video drivers" or something. i updated all my drivers and it continues, and i get the fatal error after 4 or 5 tries. help anyone?

Re: Forged Alliance fatal error

no don't worry
when uninstalling your video card drivers Vista still detects your video card so you can still see what you are working and no blackouts will happen at all
about Driver Sweeper, right click on the shortcut and choose "run as administrator"

No, RockmasteR is correct, your OS will still detect that you have a graphics card. - The drivers simply allow your graphics card to perform to its optimum.

Re: Forged Alliance fatal error

first you need to uninstall the drivers before using Driver Sweeper
uninstall them then open driver sweeper and clean the drivers
download the latest drivers for your video card and install them

also please post your Power Supply model, Watts and amps under +12V

your video card needs a high quality PSU and if you don't have that you could burn your PSU and it'll take some PC parts with it including the video card

Re: Forged Alliance fatal error

A 500W PSU is not good enough for a 9800GT.

You should be running something like this PSU:

Corsair 650W
Cost: $90 (After rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

Using a low end PSU to power higher-end gear is very bad for your system.

Re: Forged Alliance fatal error

you can safely remove your video card drivers no harm will happen, it is normal to uninstall drivers, you can't harm windows or any hardware parts doing so

Make sure you have the latest DirectX:

Try going into the C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance folder. Then delete the Game.prefs file.

If that still doesn't work - right click on the shortcut icon, select 'Properties' and add /novalidate to the end of the Target path. Make sure you leave a space at the end of the path, inbetween .exe and /novalidate.

You still need a better PSU, like the one Lord Sirian recommended in post #9
