Idea [SOLVED] CoD4 Crashing.

Hey guys,

Basically my over the last month or so, my CoD4 has been crashing randomly, from 10 seconds into the game, to 30-50 mins.. The colours will darken and all textures mess up, then the screen may go black, before showing the wierd messed up textures again. Simultaneously the sound will loop in the background. It is a full system crash so i have to hard reboot. Once iv done a hard reboot, my razer Lachesis wont respond (if i unplug and plug it back , it works again).

I dont think its a hardware problem , because CoD4 is the only game on my PC that crashes. I can play other games fine for hours on end.

Thanks in advance.

@max93, if you're unsure of your power supply, you can check by taking out the computer cover and checking inside the computer.

Re: CoD4 Crashing.

Hello Max93,

Call of Duty 4 Requirements

“Required (min) Specs”
# CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM)
# 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
# RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista
)
# Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
# Video card (generic): NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

It seems that if it was an hardware issue, it would be the Power Supply. As RockMasteR said, please post your PSU brand, watts, and amps.

Can you also please post what other games you play, you mentioned it does not effect these other games, these games might be lower quality games compared to COD4.

This will help me further investigate the problem.

Thank you.
