[SOLVED] Oblivion Shivering Isles (not like the other thread, however.)

Okay, well I used to have the beta version of shivering isles, and I didn't know about the newest (final?) version of it until I was talking with a friend on MSN. When installing, it told me to un-install and then re-install Oblivion. I didn't feel like going to control panel (click laziness...) so I just clicked on the "Oblivion" folder and pressed delete. When I tried re-installing, it said 'Do you want to completely remove Oblivion from your system (or something) ' I clicked no, checked my control panel's 'Add or remove programs' and I see Oblivion still there. I click remove, it says 'Uninstalled successfully' but its still there. Now not only do I not have Shivering Isles, I also don't have the original Oblivion. (I do, however still have my saves.)

So, in other words its gone, but its still in my control panel, so the disc thinks I have Oblivion installed, and thinks I want it to be un-installed... Please help.

I dunno if this helps in anyway but computer specs thingy:

Motherboard Phoenix Technologies, LTD R01-B3L

Processor AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs)

Speed: 2.01 GHz

1024MB RAM

Graphics Card: WinFast PX8500 GT (NVIDIA)

Sound Card Realtek High-Definition Audio

I have the disc, just in case you were wondering if I downloaded it off a pirate or whatever thingy.

Re: Oblivion Shivering Isles (not like the other thread, however.)

hello and welcome to TSF
first of all, please do not delete games or programs folders like that
that's why there is something called add/remove

download Revo uninstaller from my sig and use it to uninstall the game and all its remaining from the registry
if the uninstaller failed, it's OK just press next to scan all the game's remaining from the registry and from your hard drive, delete all (be careful to backup your saved games if they are located other than the "My Documents" folder)

reboot your PC and try to install the game again

Thanks! Works fine now. (Just so happened deep scan revealed that I left the shortcut to it in My Documents -> My Games) >.<
