Problem with installing old game (year 2000) on Vista SP1
While cleaning up my attic yesterday I found a game which brought back some memories; the soccer game "UEFA Euro 2000". I bought this game in Sweden in 2000 and I'd like to play it again on my PC.
Some of my specs: 4 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz 2.67 GHz Performance Rated at 7.80 GHz 4.0 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 1.7 GB Video RAM Vertex Shader 4.0 Pixel Shader 4.0 DirectX driver version 8.15.11.8585 EFGHS 6RKLMZK SCSI CdRom Device Vista Home premium SP1 1 TB harddisk After putting the disk into the PC, I tried running Autorun. A windowe popped up, and I chose "Install". Nothing happened. Did it again with "Compatibility Mode" for Windows 98 (the Windows version which was modern back then). The Install program didn't begin. This game brings back fond memories of my childhood, so I'd like some help to install this old game. Last edited by GSAA; 07-02-2009 at 08:01 AM. |

Hello
did you try to run the game from the disk? go into the disk directory and choose setup, don't wait for the autorun or cancel the autorun and go to the disk directory and run "setup" or "install" in compatibility mode like XP SP2 or 98 and run it as administrator, but idk if the game is compatible at all with Vista

Regrettably, I don't think there is much else you can do.
I think the game is just incompatible with Vista.

If you still have your XP or 98 CDs, you could setup up a dual boot and use the 98/XP partition to play older games.

Linux is not like Windows, it doesn't used the executable (.exe) you can use a program name wine to emulates windows applications but it won't be stable I guess
