![]() computer crashed had to reinstall windows xp. Had to reinstall 2 mircosoft flight sim programs. one was flight sim x the othe flight sim 2004. flight sim x reinstalled ok. flight sim 2004 reinstalled but at the opening screen it crashes ie: opening screen comes up for about 2 secs and dissapears. I am suspecting that the problem is related to video. I have an ATI radeon 4600 xt 512 mb card. updates have been installed. I am not sure idf this is directly related but each time I boot up computer I get message " could not load file or assembly MOM implementation version = 2.0.2684.37241 culture+neutral publickey token=90ba9c70f846762e or one of its depedancies. the system cannot find the file specified" I was able to load fs2004 on another computer with no problem. Sure would appreciate some help Thanks jowlj |

Re: microsoft flight sim 2004
Hello jowlj!
![]() Let's break this down a bit here.... Quote:

But first, make sure your XP installation is COMPLETELY up to date! 1. - You may have a corrupt logbook (C:\..\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files\logbook.bin) Try fixing your logbook. Click HERE, save this to your "Flight Simulator Files" in "My Documents". Unzip it there and run the .EXE file. When the program starts, very small should start imidiately, click "Back Up", then "Analize", then "Repair". OR 2. - I believe that in order for you to run both FSX and FS9, you must FIRST install FS9, patch it and then proceede to install FSX and the patches for it. However, once FSX is installed, you CAN NOT unistall FS9. Try unistalling FSX, I know it takes a while to install/uninstall, then install FS9 - patch it- and then reinstall FSX and patch it to SP2 or Acceleration.Let me know if that takes care of it or not.... Re: microsoft flight sim 2004
Hello Sven2157 I have managed to get rid of the MOM message It no longer appears when booting up. re: the corrupt logbook issue and fix..It appears that this is for FSX and not FS9. Is that correct.
I will wait until I hear from you again before I do a uninstall and reinstall of FS9 and FSX. |

Re: microsoft flight sim 2004
The logbook MAY be for FSX only, however both versions store the information in a .BIN file. This is a BINary file of 0's and 1's, so it should work on both logbooks.
I would go ahead and unistall FSX COMPLETELY, install 2004 (patching it to the latest version), and then re-install FSX (patching it too, to the latest). I know this takes sometime, but this is the route I would personally go. Let me know how this goes..... Sven2157 |

Re: microsoft flight sim 2004
Hi... I have done the logbook thing although I am not told of any actions taken when I selected backup-analyze-restore. You had prev mentioned a repair option but I didn't find that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled as per your instruction. I have .net framework 2.0 sp2....net framework 3.0 sp2 and net framework 3.5 sp1...do i need the first two? appeciate your patience. I had fs2004 in safe mode but that didn't make any difference. Thanks

Re: microsoft flight sim 2004
The 2.0 .NET Framework, is needed to support MOM for ATI.
Yes, you need all the other .NET Framework versions installed. FS9 and FSX use the Framework to run all the menus and anything interactive. When you reinstalled FS9, did you test it to see if it worked before you installed FSX? Sven2157
