I downloaded the game Red alert 3 uprising from the EA store about a month ago. i let it download overnight and when i tried to install it, i got an error message saying the Core_5.cab was corrupt. i thought it might have been an internet problem so i re downloaded it and i got the same message
At this point, i contacted EA on the support site, and gave them a diagnostic report of my computer. they said it might be an internet problem (which i already knew it was). the funny thing is my computer doesnt usually loose connection, but it always did while running the EADM. they gave me a link to a support thread that had to do with getting an error during the download, not the installation. i replied saying that i tried everything even though it did not relate to my problem. for the next few emails i got completely useless advice and eventually i asked for a refund. in response they gave me instructions on how to manually install a disc based game. (i have no idea why) i asked for a refund at least 3 times and they completely avoided my question. I was hoping that you would have some better knowledge than the EA support staff

Re: EA Download manager/EA support problem
Ahhh yes, EA is the worst for everything pretty much. I had many problems with BF2142, and finally gave up. If you got your money back, I would honestly just go buy a hard copy if you can. It probably was the connection, or something with their server. They wont help, so don't bother.

,You could try to call them, though not a toll-free number, the guys/girls on the other end are really cool; and they are gamers as well! Also what Operating System are you using? If it is Vista are you right-clicking the setup.exe and running it as an administrator? You could also try to ask EA for the file itself. Tell them that it keeps coming up as corrupt, please email you it. Then find where it is in the setup folders and overwrite the existing/corrupt one. Sorry I couldn't be more help .....Let us know how you finally resolve this, thanks ![]() Sven2157

Re: EA Download manager/EA support problem
When you went to download it, did you click Run or Save from the file download warning prompt?
